Purpose of the programme:
Extraction and analysis of data from the System is a time-consuming activity for a large number of staff across the institution. The Student Systems team established (from the Reporting User Group) that users spend considerable time extracting and re-extracting data, and an additional period validating the data as there can be small differences in output from the (currently available) separate reporting solutions.
This programme aims to replace currently duplicated reporting systems with a standard system that is easy to use, compatible with all Student Systems, and makes use of the latest Oracle technology.
Benefit to the University:
Standardisation of reporting data will allow all areas of the institution to report on identical data at the same time, with the knowledge that it is consistent and reliable. The time spent accessing reports will be reduced significantly.
